Initial setup

After registering, you can set up your business in just a few steps. We recommend the following order:

1. Create vineyards

The most important step: get your vineyards into the system. You have two options for this:

Import

If you already have your vineyard data in digital form (e.g. as a GIS shapefile from eAMA, FIONA or LEA), you can upload it via import:

1. Navigate to Field record book in the sidebar.
2. Click Import in the top right.
3. Select an import source and upload your ZIP file.
4. Follow the three-step wizard: Upload → Conflicts → Complete.

Manual

You can also create vineyards individually by hand:

1. Navigate to Field record book in the sidebar.
2. Click Create in the top right.
3. Fill in the fields: name, grape variety, vine area, Ried, etc.
4. Optional: draw the area directly on the map.

Once created, you’ll see your vineyards in the field record book — including map, grape varieties and area data:

2. Invite employees

Create user accounts for your employees so they can access the dashboard or the mobile app.

1. Navigate to Employees in the sidebar.
2. Click Create employee in the top right.
3. Enter first name, last name, email address and phone number.
4. Assign a role (Admin, Employee, etc.) — this determines which areas the user can see and edit.
5. Share their login details with your employees so they can sign in to the mobile app.

3. Configure task types

Vinitor ships with 47 standard task types (e.g. pruning, plant protection, leaf removal, thinning). You can adapt these to your business:

1. Navigate to Settings → General tab.
2. Scroll to the Task types section.
3. Here you can rename existing types, create new types or remove types you don’t need.

Next step

Your business is now ready to go! As a final step, you should install the mobile app on your employees’ devices so they can work on tasks out in the field.

Note

You can change all settings at any time and add further vineyards or employees. The initial setup is just a starting point — Vinitor grows with your business.
