Task types

Every task in Vinitor has exactly one task type. The type determines the category of work and defines which additional fields and tabs are available in the task detail view.

Task types are divided into two categories:

Standard task types cover general wine-growing work. Vinitor ships with 47 predefined task types covering typical work across the entire wine-growing year. These include:

  • Pruning, Tying and Trunk cleaning — winter and spring work
  • Leaf removal, Thinning and Canopy trimming — canopy work during the growing season
  • Planting, Replanting and Cultivating — new plantings and soil work
  • Slope mowing, Irrigation and Compost application — maintenance work

You can rename or remove any of these types, or add your own.

Plant protection task types are specifically intended for spraying work. Tasks with a plant protection type get an additional Plant protection tab in the detail view, where the products used, application rates and pre-harvest intervals are documented.

Plant protection tasks are created automatically when you generate tasks from a spray plan. You can also create them manually.

The task type determines which tabs are available in the detail view:

Standard task types have 6 tabs, plant protection task types have 7 tabs with the additional plant protection tab.

Every task type can be given custom fields, which appear in the Additional data tab of the task detail view. This lets you capture type-specific data — for example:

  • Litres applied (number) — for spraying work
  • Kilograms harvested (number) — for the harvest
  • Grape condition (text) — for the harvest
  • Pruning system (choice) — for pruning

These fields enable structured data capture that can also be evaluated in Statistics.

In addition to the predefined types, you can create your own task types:

  1. Open Settings

Navigate to Settings → General in the sidebar and scroll to the Task types section.

  2. Create a new type

Click Create and enter a name for the task type.

  3. Choose a category

Decide whether it’s a standard or plant protection type.

  4. Add custom fields

Optionally add custom fields that are shown when creating and editing tasks of this type.

  5. Save

The new task type is immediately available when creating tasks.

For more information on configuration, see Settings → General.
