Mobile App 2.0 — Biometrics, Offline & New Icons

The mobile app is the most important tool in the field. With version 2.0 it becomes considerably more comfortable and reliable.

Biometric login puts an end to entering a password every day. Face ID on the iPhone, fingerprint on Android — set it up once, and afterwards a glance or a touch is all it takes. With work gloves in particular, typing in passwords is cumbersome, and that now falls away. Right after the first login, a new onboarding step guides you through the setup:

Set it up once, and afterwards a fingerprint or face is enough.

The new offline mode makes the app independent of the mobile network. Tasks, vineyards and reports are stored locally and are available even without internet. Changes are synchronised as soon as a connection is available again. This is especially important in remote wine locations, where reception is often poor:

The design has been refreshed — a completely new icon library gives the app a more modern appearance, from the navigation bar to the status chips in the lists:

Behind the scenes, the database was migrated to PostgreSQL. This brings better performance with large data volumes and enables new functions such as geographic queries.
